Illustrator Tutorials

Tutorial #1      I think the tools that will be easy to use are the shape tools such as rectangle and star because it allows you to create a basic shape without using multiple lines. I really like the star tool and how you can increase the number of points the star has. You might use that tool for designing space-themed posters or designing logos. I think the pen tool might be hard to use but I think it will come in handy when trying to make custom shapes. I really like how the brush tool smooths out the brush strokes you make so it looks neater and it would be great to make custom fonts.  Tutorial #2      I think the tool that will be easy to use is the text tool because it allows you to type texts in so many various ways. I think using the type on a path tool will be the most useful when creating logos because it will allow you to wrap a text around a symbol. I think the eraser tool would be really useful for getting rid of small things without completely deleting the object and star

Canvas Project: New Version

Thanks for all the nice compliments and helpful criticisms about my canvas project! I tried to remember all the criticisms you guys had and attempted to make those changes to my project. I don't know if I got them all, but the ones I did are:  (1) making the horizon line stroke thicker to match my other lines  (2) changing the gradient order so it moves from dark to light starting from the horizon (3) adding more subtle gradient changes for the cool-toned section so it flows/blends more (4) moving the horizon line upward so that it doesn't line up with the neck/face line  I really like the newer version, so thank you for helping me clean up my work and make it better! :) After  Before                              New code:    <!doctype html> <html> <head> <meta charset="UTF-8"> <title> -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- </title> <!-- import external .js scripts here --> <!-- <script type="text/javascript" src=&q

Canvas Project

My canvas experiment project depicts an asymmetric cubic queen drawn with triangles, rectangles, straight lines, bezier curves, quadratic curves, and other geometric shapes. I made the canvas size portrait to reduce the background area and make the subject the focal point. My piece is inspired by a cubic painting I found online that I used as the foundation while taking my own spin on it. The main theme of my work is the use of warm and cool toned colors. My theme was inspired by the artist Henri Matisse because I find his use of vibrant colors to be very intriguing and wanted to incorporate it into my work.   I colored the face of the queen with cool tones while making her chest area warm-toned. I did this to create contrast and vibrancy due to the complementary nature of the colors. I also used similar colors to create a linear gradient on the background that transitions from warm to cool tones and contrasts against the different colored sections of the queen. I also added a hori
