Tag Brush

 


    My tag brush contains the logo I made in Illustrator. The logo symbolizes me as a person so when people see my tag it will communicate to them that the picture was made by me. I first started by creating a boundary around my logo. I did this to imitate the space seen when a person sprays paints a tag in real life. I then added a spray effect, a scratch effect, and a negative light effect. 

    These effects added dimension and roughness to the tag, making it seem realistic. I experimented with different colors of the tag (see above). I would say white or red are my favorite. However, I will change the color of the tag according to how well it fits into the picture I make. My tag not only shows that something is my work but that I am proud of it enough to claim it.

Portfolio

      The final project was to make a portfolio showcasing all the projects I made during the semester. I made this portfolio using InDesign. I had initially sketched a completely different cover, but as I began working I came up with a new cover idea. The idea for the cover was inspired by the Creation of Adam by Michelangelo.  The painting of the Creation of Adam depicts an image of God stretching out his finger to give Adam a spark of life. Illustrator Tutorials

Tutorial #1      I think the tools that will be easy to use are the shape tools such as rectangle and star because it allows you to create a basic shape without using multiple lines. I really like the star tool and how you can increase the number of points the star has. You might use that tool for designing space-themed posters or designing logos. I think the pen tool might be hard to use but I think it will come in handy when trying to make custom shapes. I really like how the brush tool smooths out the brush strokes you make so it looks neater and it would be great to make custom fonts.  Tutorial #2      I think the tool that will be easy to use is the text tool because it allows you to type texts in so many various ways. I think using the type on a path tool will be the most useful when creating logos because it will allow you to wrap a text around a symbol.
